David《童年往事》
【前言：這裏憶述的，對我屬三十多年前的童年往事，若對青年人而言，就可能是一中年人眼中的香港歷史了。】
【音樂篇】
小時候，家裏很窮，沒有玩具，但約兩三歲時，富有的舅父送了一台簡單的唱機及六十多張退伍的七十八轉唱片給我，就這樣，開啟了我欣賞各類音樂的大門。那時候，經常玩唱機、聽唱片，很多四、五十年代的流行音樂不經不覺間聽熟了。母親問我找有狗叫的歌Patti Page的"The Doggie in the Window"，我就會從一厚疊的唱片中找出來。事後回想，不知道自己怎樣辨認。祖父有一套音響留下來，我不許碰，只能站在一旁看，我的二叔喜歡攝影，拍了一張我聽音樂的沙龍照片寄給報社攝影版發表，給登了出來。後來，屬於我的簡單唱機給我弄破了，要聽音樂就只能收聽電台了。到了小學五年級，香港電台有兩個介紹兒童認識古典音樂的節目，我每次都聽，古典音樂的大門從此打開了。上了中學，商業二台逢星期一至星期五晚上十一時有一中西合璧廣播的古典音樂節目《夜曲》，我每晚都聽，貝多芬、柴可夫斯基、蕭邦……的名字、音樂不再陌生。我還要多謝陳浩才的《醉人的音樂》，簡而清的爵士樂介紹，陳韻文的《流行歌曲話當年》，梁寶耳、朱雅民一忘記了名字的音樂節目。沒有他們的節目，我欣賞音樂的範圍不會這樣廣闊。
【看報篇】
母親喜歡看報，我也喜歡。童年時，沒有多少玩伴，報紙成了我最好的朋友。我大概三年級下學期就開始看報紙，看港聞版、國際版。看甚麼報？今天已停刊的星島晚報、華僑日報、華僑晚報、工商日報、工商晚報……上了中學，看報紙比前仔細，港聞版翻翻而已，留神的始終是國際版。那時，星島晚報有一時事副刊《篇幅半版多一點》，我每天都看。看多了，世界大事瞭然於胸。英文不好，South China Morning Post、Hongkong Standard、China Mail等報敬而遠之。不大懂中文時，香港有一份「大眾日報」，我將眾和象兩字混淆了，想看「大象日報」，當然找不到來看。
【看電影篇】
小時候、家住灣仔，附近有一「金城戲院」，母親常往看電影。母親常說，和我到金城看《國王與我》，散場回家，她哼出"Shall we dance"，我就會哼下去。那時看電影，多到東方、東城、國民、環球、香港大舞台等院看。銅鑼灣的紐約、利舞台、樂聲、豪華，中環的皇后、娛樂比較少去。我不大懂繪畫，但喜歡畫戲院，每有機會到銅鑼灣、北角，就留神戲院，將外貌記下來。嚴格而言，我不是影迷，只是喜歡看電影而已。印象最深的戲院是東城和東方，一新一舊，各自各精彩。
要回憶的，太多了，選音樂、報紙、電影三個項目簡單說說。「多謝細閱」。
